N6‐Methyladenosine Modification of circIST1 Promotes Hypoxia‐Inducible Factor α–mediated Glycolysis and Progression in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
We identified first time a critical m6A modification of circIST1 on miR‐140‐3p/miR‐182‐HIF1α regulatory network involved in the HCC progression and tumor glycolysis, gaining mechanistic insights into the function of circRNAs in HCC progression. ABSTRACT The involvement of circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been well‐documented in various cancers, including ...

Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients With Tumors ≤ 2 Cm Are Suitable for Wedge Resection or Segmentectomy: A Real‐World Study

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 1, January 2026.
Wedge resection is an optimal choice for NSCLCs ≤ 2 cm, especially for GGO‐dominant tumors. However, segmentectomy is more appropriate when the CTR is > 0.25. ABSTRACT Background The role of wedge resection in the treatment of non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with solid components ≤ 2 cm remains controversial.

SMARCA4‐Deficient Undifferentiated Thoracic Tumor: Clinical Features and Prognosis of a Case Series and Literature Review

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 20, Issue 1, January 2026.
Our manuscript presents detailed presentations of case series of thoracic SMARCA4‐UT, and we report a unique case of diaphragmatic metastases and, interestingly, the occurrence of brain metastasis in one patient, which is a rare phenomenon in SMARCA4‐UT.

Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease, insulin resistance and hepatocellular carcinoma: A deadly triad

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 56, Issue 1, January 2026.
Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a major global cause of liver disease, driven by obesity and insulin resistance (IR). IR promotes hepatic lipid accumulation, inflammation and mitochondrial dysfunction, accelerating MASLD progression to fibrosis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
