The association between muscle strengthening activities and atherogenic index of plasma

Preventive Medicine, 2016
Atherogenic index of plasma (AIP), calculated as LOG10(triglycerides/high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol), is considered to be a novel indicator of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. Muscle strengthening activities (MSA) have been shown to favorably associate with triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).

Association between atherogenic index of plasma and new-onset stroke in a population with cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome stages 0–3: insights from CHARLS

Cardiovascular Diabetology
The associations between atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) have been widely reported; However, such association to the incidence of stroke in the population with Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic (CKM) syndrome remains ...

Atherogenic index of plasma and triglyceride-glucose index mediate the association between stroke and all-cause mortality: insights from the lipid paradox

Lipids in Health and Disease
The “lipid paradox” describes the counterintuitive observation that traditionally unfavorable lipid profiles may be associated with improved outcomes in stroke patients.

[Relationship between atherogenic index of plasma and childhood asthma].

Zhongguo dang dai er ke za zhi = Chinese journal of contemporary pediatrics, 2023
To explore the relationship between atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) and childhood asthma. This retrospective study included 86 children with asthma admitted to the Changzhou Second People's Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from July 2020 to August 2022 as the asthma group and 149 healthy children undergoing physical examination during

The relationship between erectile dysfunction and the Atherogenic Index of Plasma

International Journal of Impotence Research, 2019
The objective of this study was to compare the Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP) values as indicators of subclinical atherosclerosis among 124 patients with erectile dysfunction, which was thought to be vasculogenic and 126 control subjects who had no erectile dysfunction, and to compare cardiac performance values between both the groups using exercise

Atherogenic index of plasma in non‐obese women with androgenetic alopecia

International Journal of Dermatology, 2015
AbstractBackgroundAndrogenetic alopecia (AGA) is characterized by the local and gradual transformation of terminal scalp hair into vellus hair, which has a shorter and thinner shaft. Several studies have analyzed the relationship between AGA and cardiovascular disease in males, and few were conducted in females.

Effects of plasma atherogenic index and plasma osmolality on arteriovenous fistula patency in hemodialysis patients

The Journal of Vascular Access, 2021
Background: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of Plasma atherogenic index (AIP) and plasma osmolality (PO) values on arteriovenous fistula (AVF) patency in patients with chronic renal failure. Methods: The patients with primary AVF between December 2012 and March 2020 with the diagnosis of end-stage renal disease in our ...

Effect of atherogenic index of plasma and triglyceride-glucose index on early neurological deterioration of patients with large artery atherosclerotic ischemic stroke

Diabetology & Metabolic Syndrome
Stroke due to large artery atherosclerosis (LAA-stroke) has a poor early prognosis despite appropriate medical treatment. Recently, various parameters reflecting pathological conditions such as insulin resistance or atherogenic dyslipidemia have been ...

Association between the atherogenic index of plasma and the systemic immuno-inflammatory index using NHANES data from 2005 to 2018

Scientific Reports
The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) is used to evaluate the risk of atherosclerosis, while the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) measures inflammation. The AIP and SII are indicators used to predict diseases in various areas.

Atherogenic index of plasma and the gamma gap: Considerations by physical activity

International Journal of Cardiology, 2016
Atherogenic index of plasma (AIP), calculated as LOG10(triglycerides/high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol), is utilized to predict risk of cardiovascular disease. An elevated (≥3.1g/dL) gamma gap (total protein (g/dL) - albumin (g/dL)) is associated with cardiovascular disease.
