Remnant lipoproteins and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease
Clinica Chimica Acta, 2019Lipoproteins are one of the major risk factors for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), among which, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) particles have been definitively shown to be causally associated with the development of ASCVD. Additionally, the concept of remnant lipoproteins has emerged as lipoprotein metabolism has been fully investigated.

Lasers: Applications in Cardiovascular Atherosclerotic Disease
Critical Care Nursing Clinics of North America, 1989Laser angioplasty is a new, yet experimental intervention in the vascular setting. This technique forces artificially stimulated electrons to generate light energy. This energy can be used to achieve tissue abatement by a variety of mechanisms. Reducing resultant complications from this technique is the goal of current laser research.

Prevention of Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease in Childhood
Current Cardiology Reports, 2020Atherosclerotic-CVD processes begin early in life and are influenced over the life course by interaction of genetic and potential modifiable risk factors, behaviors, and environmental exposures. The purpose of this review is to highlight importance of primordial and primary prevention beginning early in the life course.Evidence-based guidelines and ...

Current pharmacotherapies for atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases
Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2019Despite the introduction of statins for lowering LDL-C level, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) remains a leading cause of death and morbidity worldwide. Combination therapies with statin and other lipid-lowering drugs, including ezetimibe and proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors, have unlocked additive benefits

Effect of niacin on atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1998Niacin has been studied in 6 major clinical trials with cardiovascular endpoints. The Coronary Drug Project (CDP) was the largest of these trials and the only one to use niacin monotherapy affecting cardiovascular outcomes: recurrent myocardial infarction and cerebrovascular events were significantly decreased.
