We further developed the Dried Blood Spot (DBS) methodology for detection of four testosterone esters with focus on robustness and applicability in doping control. The study consisted of two parts: method development and validation, and a human administration study with intramuscular injections of 250 mg Sustanon® in healthy men.

Red blood cell derived extracellular vesicles during the process of autologous blood doping

Six, healthy volunteers donated their blood and were transfused with their red blood cell concentrate after 35–36 days of storage. RBC‐EVs showed highly significant increase (p < 0.001) from an average of 60.1 ± 19.8 (103/μL) at baseline to 179.3 ± 84.7 (103/μL) in the first 1–3 h after transfusion.

Detection of erythropoiesis stimulating agent Luspatercept after administration to healthy volunteers for antidoping purposes

This study was to perform the first administration of drug Reblozyl (Luspatercept) for testing doping detection. Detection was possible with serum, urine, and DBS for over 70 days. SDS‐PAGE, SAR‐PAGE or IEF‐PAGE method can be used for confirmation. Indirect detection by looking at hematological parameters variation was less efficient.
