Closing the Gap: Comparing Tuna Rfmo Port State Measures with the Fao Agreement on Port State Measures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The Pew Environment Group has conducted a gap analysis comparing the port State measures (PSMs) established by 10 Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs) with those established by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO ...

Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Tagging Programme in Ireland 2016

open access: yes, 2016
It is important that stock origin, habitat utilisation and large-scale movement patterns of Atlantic bluefin are characterised in detail to ensure that the population models and concepts used in Atlantic bluefin tuna stock assessment and Management Strategy Evaluation (MSE) are parameterised as accurately as possible.

Evaluation of Atlantic bluefin tuna otolith ageing protocols

open access: yes, 2020
An otolith ageing bias for juvenile Atlantic bluefin tuna was detected at the 2017 population assessment. Consequently, revised reading criteria were proposed to reduce this ageing bias. To evaluate standardized and revised reading criteria, age estimates were compared to reading and radiocarbon age estimates.

Use of genetic data to assess the uncertainty in stock assessments due to the assumed stock structure: the case of albacore (Thunnus alalunga) from the Atlantic Ocean [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Stock assessments can be problematic because of uncertainties associated with the data or because of simplified assumptions made when modeling biological processes (Rosenberg and Restrepo, 1995).
