Reactive arthritis of the temporomandibular joints and cervical spine in a child [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Background Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthritis is frequently seen in children with chronic arthritis. It has rarely been described in a non-infectious acute setting. We report a case of reactive arthritis isolated to the TMJs and cervical spine. Case

Prevalence of Degenerative Changes of the Atlanto-Axial Joints

open access: yes, 2014
Obbjective: Degeneration of the atlanto-dens and atlanto-axial joints is associated with cervical spine pain and may also be associated with an increased risk of dens fracture. However, there is paucity of literature describing the prevalence of specific degenerative changes in the atlanto-dens and [for full text, please go to the a.m. URL]

Design and Pilot Biomechanical Evaluation of a New Device for the Surgical Treatment of Atlanto-Axial Instability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The purpose of this paper was a biomechanical review of a new device, BTS (Bilateral Transarticular Spacer), to stabilize atlanto-axial motion. The biomechanical performance of the BTS and Harms techniques were compared using 6 cadaveric spines.
