The Role of Drag in the Energetics of Strongly Forced Exoplanet Atmospheres

open access: yes, 2011
In contrast to the Earth, where frictional heating is typically negligible, we show that drag mechanisms could act as an important heat source in the strongly-forced atmospheres of some exoplanets, with the potential to alter the circulation.

Emerging Climate Change Signals in Atmospheric Circulation

open access: yesAGU Advances
The circulation response to climate change shapes regional climate and extremes. Over the last decade an increasing number of atmospheric circulation signals have been documented, with some attributed to human activities.

The circulatory impact of dust from dust profile assimilation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We present results from a reanalysis of temperatures, dust columns and dust vertical profiles focussing on the assimilation, distribution and transport of dust in the martian atmosphere.

General circulation of the atmosphere

open access: yesEos, Transactions American Geophysical Union, 1971
Extensive processing of aerologic data has been made by using high‐speed electronic computers. They have yielded better descriptions of the global distributions of various quantities such as wind, temperature, and, particularly, the meridional circulation.Taljaard et al.

Titan’s Atmospheric Albedo Asymmetry and Seasonal Variability Observed through the Cassini Imaging Science Subsystem

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
Using images from Cassini, we analyzed the north–south albedo asymmetry that has been observed in the atmosphere of Saturn’s moon, Titan. Suitable images from the Cassini Imaging Science Subsystem taken at 889 nm spanned from 2004 to 2017—around half of ...
