Discovery of Calm Astronomical Sites Over the Antarctic Continent

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2023
A calm astronomical site means a site where astronomical observation would be less likely to be interfered with by optical turbulence. Previous turbulence measurements at a few sites in Antarctica have demonstrated very calm atmospheric conditions here ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Satellite orbit under influence of a drag - analytical approach [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Astronomical Journal, 2017
The report studies some changes in orbital elements of the artificial satellites of Earth under influence of atmospheric drag. In order to develop possibilities of applying the results in many future cases, an analytical interpretation of the ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Karhunen-Loève Basis Functions Of Kolmogorov Turbulence In The Sphere (Baltic Astronomy, 17, 383, 2008, Erratum)

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2010
The previously published factor, which scales the matrix elements of the eigenvalue equation as a finite outer scale of the von-Kármán model is switched on, is corrected.

Analysis Methods of Errors (Motion and Atmospheric) in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A method to allow the analysis of the effects of motion and atmospheric errors in SAR images is here presented. The objective of the method is to allow the visualization of the effects of motion errors and atmospheric artefacts on the processed (focused)

Modeling atmospheric effects of the September 1859 Solar Flare [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We have modeled atmospheric effects, especially ozone depletion, due to a solar proton event which probably accompanied the extreme magnetic storm of 1-2 September 1859. We use an inferred proton fluence for this event as estimated from nitrate levels in

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Assessment of Daytime Sky Quality and Atmospheric Refractive Index ( ) Analysis at Pico dos Dias Observatory

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Ground-based astronomical and solar observations are strongly influenced by atmospheric turbulence, a dynamic phenomenon that degrades optical resolution through refractive index fluctuations.
