A Method of Measuring Fabry-Parot Etalon Transmittance by Using Frequency Comb Laser [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
This paper presents a method for instantaneous measurement of Fabry-Parot(F-P) transmittance curve. Compared with the previous method, this method has many advantages, such as scanning-free, simple in structure and accuracy.

Towards an automatic wind speed and direction profiler for Wide Field AO systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Wide Field Adaptive Optics (WFAO) systems are among the most sophisticated AO systems available today on large telescopes. The knowledge of the vertical spatio-temporal distribution of the wind speed (WS) and direction (WD) are fundamental to optimize ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Aerosol Characteristics in the Near-Ground Layer of the Atmosphere of the City of Tomsk in Different Types of Aerosol Weather

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2019
Considering the wide range of variability of all aerosol characteristics (especially in the near-ground layer of the atmosphere near industrial centers), when creating a realistic empirical model of optical and microphysical characteristics, the optimal ...

New Technique for Aerosol Detection in Haze Day Using Side‐Scattering Lidar and Its Inversion Method

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, 2020
The new side‐scattering lidar using two charge‐coupled device cameras and one CW laser is developed to measure the near‐ground aerosol profiles in haze day, which is a powerful tool and is most interested for the environmental and meteorological agencies.

Evaluation of High Cloud Product of ECMWF Over South China Sea Using CALIOP

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, 2022
High clouds are globally widespread and are crucially important to global radiative processes and to the thermal balance of the Earth. Active remote sensing measurements can provide more reliable detection of optically thin cirrus clouds than passive ...

Improved models of upper-level wind for several astronomical observatories

open access: yes, 2010
An understanding of wind speed and direction as a function of height are critical to the proper modeling of atmospheric turbulence. We have used radiosonde data from launch sites near significant astronomical observatories and created mean profiles of ...

Impact of time-variant turbulence behavior on prediction for adaptive optics systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
For high contrast imaging systems, the time delay is one of the major limiting factors for the performance of the extreme adaptive optics (AO) sub-system and, in turn, the final contrast.

Adaptive optics control with multi-agent model-free reinforcement learning.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2022
We present a novel formulation of closed-loop adaptive optics (AO) control as a multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) problem in which the controller is able to learn a non-linear policy and does not need a priori information on the dynamics of the ...

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...
