Characterization of atmospheric plasma-sprayed La0.8Sr0.2Ga0.8Mg0.2O3 electrolyte

Journal of Power Sources, 2008
Abstract La 0.8 Sr 0.2 Ga 0.8 Mg 0.2 O 3 (LSGM) deposit in free standing planar shape was prepared by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) to examine the coating microstructure and electrical conductivity to aim at applying APS LSGM to solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). The electrical conductivity of the plasma-sprayed LSGM coating was investigated.

Influence of Noise Factors on Atmospheric Plasma Spraying

International Thermal Spray Conference, 2002
Abstract Studies on atmospheric plasma spraying have generally focused on the influence primary parameters such as gas flows and plasma current. However, the APS process is also influenced by a large number of disturbance variables including electrode wear, cooling system irregularities, and disruptions in powder injection.

Characterization of YSZ SOFC Electrolyte Deposited by Atmospheric Plasma Spraying and Low Pressure Plasma Spraying

International Thermal Spray Conference, 2006
Abstract Yttria doped zirconia has been widely employed as electrolyte materials for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). Plasma spraying is a cost-effective process to deposit YSZ electrolyte. In this study, the 8 mol % Y2O3 stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) layer was deposited by low pressure plasma spraying (LPPS) and atmospheric plasma spraying (APS)

Development of dense Si coatings by atmospheric plasma spraying

Thermal Spray Bulletin, 2022
In modern aircraft engines, ceramic matrix composites with thermally sprayed protective coatings are used, which service life depends, among other things, on the properties of the Si bond coat. In this study, Si coatings were produced and characterized using Atmospheric Plasma Spraying (APS).

Atmospheric plasma sprayed SnO2 coating for ethanol detection

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2018
Abstract SnO2 coatings were deposited on alumina substrates using an atmospheric plasma spray. The coating morphology and phase structure were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Two different coatings were fabricated using nitrogen as a plasma forming gas with and without hydrogen.

Aging of atmospherically plasma sprayed chromium evaporation barriers

Surface and Coatings Technology, 2016
Abstract Chromium evaporation barriers are frequently used in solid oxide fuel cells to protect the porous cathode from chromium poisoning. Volatile chromium species are generated at the operation temperature of about 600–900 °C in a humid atmosphere for chromia scale forming steels as interconnect materials.
