Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Determination of microstructural parameters in AlCrFeCoNi high-entropy alloy coatings by Williamson-Hall analysis

open access: yesResults in Engineering
AlCrFeCoNi high-entropy alloy (HEA) coatings were deposited on 316 L stainless steel by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) technique. The high energy ball-milling method with different milling duration was used to prepare the AlCrFeCoNi powder feedstock ...

Partial Evaporation of Strontium Zirconate During Atmospheric Plasma Spraying

open access: yes, 2009
Perovskite-type SrZrO3 has been investigated as a candidate material for thermal barrier coating application. During plasma spraying of SrZrO3, SrO volatilized more than ZrO2 and the coating composition deviates from initial stoichiometry.

Development & Characterization of Alumina Coating by Atmospheric Plasma Spraying

open access: yesApplied Mechanics and Materials, 2018
Ceramic coatings are applied on metals to prevent them from oxidation and corrosion at room as well as elevated temperatures. The service environment, mechanisms of protection, chemical and mechanical compatibility, application method, control of coating quality and ability of the coating to be repaired are the factors that need to be considered while ...

One‐Step Microfluidic Manufactured Fucose‐Decorated Sweetosomes Choose the Time and the Road for Their Intracellular Journey to Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Sweetosomes, a new class of fucose‐decorated liposomes, are developed via a one‐step microfluidic process without surface chemistry. This study elucidates their main caveolae‐mediated entry and distinct endosomal trafficking. These nanostructures demonstrate superior endosomal escape, organelle acidity modulation, and prolonged plasma persistence ...

Deposition of TiO2 coatings: Comparison between High Velocity Suspension Flame Spraying (HVSFS), atmospheric plasma spraying and HVOF-spraying

open access: yes, 2009
A TiO2 (anatase) nanopowder suspension was processed by High Velocity Suspension Flame Spraying (HVSFS). The resulting coatings were characterized and compared to conventional atmospheric plasma sprayed (APS) and HVOFsprayed ones.
