Proceedings. 2005 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2005. IGARSS '05., 2005
This paper overviews the scientific activities of the ADEOS-II (Midori-II) GLI atmosphere project. The GLI version 2 standard products had been released since November 2004. The optical and microphysical properties of aerosols and clouds were retrieved as the standard products by use of originally developed GLI data analysis system.

Atmospheric sciences in Antarctica
Reviews of Geophysics, 1988The Antarctic is an interesting land that has become the focus of much attention in the last decade. Its undisturbed geological record dating back to the last interglacial period, a locale with seas and lakes populated with interesting organisms, a land with beautiful twilights and lovely cirrus and stratospheric cloud formations, a whole continent ...

The importance of the Antarctic in atmospheric sciences
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. B, Biological Sciences, 1977A prime objective of atmospheric science research in Antarctica is to use the special conditions found there to throw new light on global problems and, in particular, to test theories of the dynamics of the environment and its reactions to solar phenomena.

Applications of Theoretical Methods to Atmospheric Science
2008Publisher Summary Theoretical techniques have revolutionized the study of chemistry. Due to the parallel development of theoretical methods and computing power, quantum chemistry has become fast and flexible, often yielding detailed insight into chemical processes that cannot be obtained in the laboratory.
