Chemical and Biological Determinants of PEG‐Lipid Shedding From Therapeutic Nanoparticles

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
PEG‐lipids play a central role in governing lipid nanoparticle stability, targeting, and function. However, PEG‐lipids can “shed” from the nanoparticle surface in biological environments, with the extent and kinetics of shedding influenced by chemical and biological factors.

Universal gate set for optical lattice based atom interferometry

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
In this paper, we propose a paradigm for atom interferometry and demonstrate that there exists a universal set of atom optic components for inertial sensing. These components constitute gates with which we carry out quantum operations and represent input-

Harnessing the Folding of Antitumor Peptides for Controlled Carrier‐Free Drug Delivery

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A disulfide‐bridged stapled p53 α‐helix co‐assembled with doxorubicin into protease‐resistant nanocomplexes. Reductive intracellular conditions induced helix refolding and nanostructure disassembly, which enabled the coordinated release of the chemotherapeutic agent and anticancer peptide.

Coherent atomic manipulation and cooling using composite optical pulse sequences

open access: yes, 2014
The laser cooling of atoms to ultracold temperatures has propelled many groundbreaking advances in fundamental research and precision measurement, through such applications as quantum simulators and interferometric sensors. Laser cooling remains, however,

The Influence of the Pretreatment of Tool Steel on the Running‐In Phase of Diamond‐Like Carbon Coatings

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The influence of tool steel pretreatment on the running‐in behavior of TiNb‐diamond‐like carbon (DLC) coatings is investigated. Ion etching promotes carbide protrusion and increases coating roughness, while post‐deposition polishing reduces surface asperities.

Crystallography of organic energetic materials: thermoelastic properties and equation of state

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section B, EarlyView.
Thermoelastic properties and equation‐of‐state parameters of 16 organic energetic molecular crystals are systematically compiled and compared from temperature‐ and pressure‐dependent crystallographic data. The analysis highlights anisotropic thermal expansion and compressibility and identifies structural factors governing the mechanical response of ...

Exploring Use‐Wear Texture Quantification Through Confocal Microscopy on Tools Made From Volcanic Rocks (Basalt and Phonolite)

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Functional analysis is essential for reconstructing lithic tool use. Recent approaches combining confocal microscopy and surface texture analysis provide quantitative alternatives to traditional visual use‐wear analysis, although their application to coarse‐grained, heterogeneous rocks remains challenging because of their complex surface ...

Forced Atom Interferometers in Optical Harmonic Potentials

open access: yesAtoms
We present a study of Doppler-sensitive light-pulse atom interferometers operating within optical dipole potentials, where atomic trajectories are manipulated using momentum transfer from light pulses and optical forces from the trap.
