Bioinspired Stabilization of Fluorescent Au@SiO2 Tracers for Multimodal Biological Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a bioinspired stabilization strategy for fluorescent gold‐silica nanoparticles. Inspired by natural biosilica maturation, high‐temperature calcination transforms the silica shells, preventing dissolution in cell culture media and intracellular environments.

Evaluation of diverse range microbes for their plant growth promoting abilities and their pesticide compatibility

open access: yesEnvironment Conservation Journal, 2021
Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) contribute to an increase in crop yield through an environmentally friendly method, therefore eight rhizospheric bacteria, two of each genera Bacillus, Pseudomonas, Azotobacter and Azospirillum were examined ...

Uranium isotopes quantitatively determined by modified method of atomic absorption spectrophotometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Hollow-cathode discharge tubes determine the quantities of uranium isotopes in a sample by using atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Dissociation of the uranium atoms allows a large number of ground state atoms to be produced, absorbing the incident ...

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Métaux en traces et pollution de la côte belge et de l'estuaire de l'Escaut [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
Different metals (Cr, Cu, Fe, Zn, Pb and Ni) were dosed by spectrophotometry of atomic absorption in the North Sea waters and the Scheldt estuary. For some amongst them, a comparison is made between the dosage by spectrophotometry atomic absorption and ...

A Study of the Near-Ultraviolet Spectrum of Vega

open access: yes, 2005
UV, optical, and near-IR spectra of Vega have been combined to test our understanding of stellar atmospheric opacities, and to examine the possibility of constraining chemical abundances from low-resolution UV fluxes.

An attempt to define the sodium requirements of lactating dairy cows in a tropical environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
BACKGROUND: Lactating dairy cattle in the tropics may require more sodium (Na) owing to the hot and humid climatic conditions. It is unknown whether the current recommendations on Na for lactating cows can be quantitatively used in tropical countries ...

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

Bioaccumulation of heavy metals in Oncorhynchus mykiss for export at production centers in the Peruvian Central Highlands

open access: yesRevista Ambiente & Água, 2017
The bioaccumulation of the heavy metals Cu, Zn, Fe and Pb was determined in the livers, kidneys and muscles of Oncorhynchus mykiss trout at seven production centers in the province of Yauli, Junín-Peru. The determination and quantification of total heavy
