Absolute photoionization cross sections of atomic oxygen [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 1985
The absolute values of the photoionization cross sections of atomic oxygen have been measured from the ionization threshold to 120 A. An autoionizing resonance belonging to the 2s2p/sup 4/( /sup 4/P)3p( /sup 3/D/sup o/, /sup 3/S/sup o/, /sup 3/P/sup o/) transition has been observed at 479.43 A; and another line, at 389.97 A.

Excitation of the 2P State of Atomic Hydrogen by Electron Impact

open access: yesAtoms, 2022
The excitation cross sections of the 2P state of atomic hydrogen at low incident electron energies (from 0.755 to 3.5 Ry) were calculated using the variational polarized orbital method.

Investigation of gamma-ray attenuation parameters of some materials used in dental applications

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
Radiological parameters of composite filler, zirconium and acrylic coating materials used in dental treatment are determined. Mass attenuation coefficients (μm) of these materials have been experimentally determined for 9 different gamma energies ...

An investigation of the nuclear shielding effectiveness of some transparent glasses manufactured from natural quartz doped lead cations

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2021
The influence of lead cations on natural quartz (QZ) from Egypt as a glass shielding material for the composition with nominal formula (10Na2O - (90 - x) QZ – xPbO (where x = 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 mol %)) was examined. The studied samples are synthesized

Recommended Positron Scattering Cross Sections for Atomic Systems

open access: yesJournal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data, 2019
We present a critical analysis of available experimental and theoretical cross section data for positron scattering from atomic systems. From this analysis, we present (where data are available) recommended cross sections for total scattering ...
