The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

Hardy-Sobolev Spaces Associated with Twisted Convolution
We first define the Hardy-Sobolev spaces associated with twisted convolution; then we give the atomic decomposition. As an application, we consider the endpoint version of the div-curl theorem for the twisted convolution.

Polar Alignment and Atomic Decomposition
Structured optimization uses a prescribed set of atoms to assemble a solution that fits a model to data. Polarity, which extends the familiar notion of orthogonality from linear sets to general convex sets, plays a special role in a simple and geometric form of convex duality.

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Atomic, molecular and wavelet decomposition of generalized 2-microlocal Besov spaces
We introduce generalized 2-microlocal Besov spaces and give characterizations in decomposition spaces by atoms, molecules and wavelets. We apply the wavelet decomposition to prove that the 2-microlocal spaces are invariant under the action of ...

Transfer operators and atomic decomposition
We use the method of atomic decomposition and a new family of Banach spaces to study the action of transfer operators associated to piecewise-defined maps. It turns out that these transfer operators are quasi-compact even when the associated potential, the dynamics and the underlying phase space have very low regularity.

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed
