Synthesis and Magnetism of Co 2 III $_{2}^{III}$ Co 5 II $_{5}^{II}$ and Co 2 III $_{2}^{III}$ Co 6 II $_{6}^{II}$ Complexes, and the Role of the Free Choice of Local Coordinate Frames for Interpreting Magnetic Parameters

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 12, 24 April 2026.
In order to rationalise the magnetic properties of a newly synthesised Co2III$_{2}^{III}$Co6II$_{6}^{II}$ coordination cluster it was found essential to exploit the freedom to choose the local coordinate frames for describing the high‐spin CoII centres.

A Physics‐Informed Neural Network Approach to the Gannon Storm

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 7, 16 April 2026.
Abstract Extreme geomagnetic storms, such as the May 2024 Gannon event, pose significant risks to technological infrastructure, requiring robust forecasting models. Here, we apply Physics‐Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) to the Burton equation to model the storm's ring current dynamics by studying the temporal evolution of the SuperMAG SMR index during

Magnetism and Nonlinear Charge Transport in NiFe2O4/γ‐Al2O3/SrTiO3 Heterostructure: Toward Spintronic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 33, 23 April 2026.
In this report, we demonstrate that a crystalline phase of 52nm thick NiFe2O4 can be grown by RF sputtering on top of γ‐Al2O3(8nm)/SrTiO3 at a significantly low temperature (150 °C) without compromising the mobility and carrier density of the 2D electron gas at the γ‐Al2O3(8nm)/SrTiO3 interface.

MagPiezo: A Magnetogenetic Platform for Remote Activation of Endogenous Piezo1 Channels in Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 31, 16 April 2026.
MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.

Phase-gradient metasurface enables atomic spin chirality detection for elliptically polarized laser-pumped atomic magnetometer

open access: yesPhotoniX
The powerful light field manipulation capability of metasurfaces offers a novel development perspective for the quantum precision measurement. By applying the phase-gradient metasurface (PGM) to atomic magnetometers (AMs), we have proposed and ...

Postselected amplification applied to atomic magnetometers

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
Abstract We propose to embed the atomic magnetometer (AM) into an optical Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI). We analyze the effect of amplification of the Faraday rotation (FR) angle of the probe laser light, by properly postselecting the path-information state of the laser photons when passing through the MZI.

Large Anomalous Hall Effect, Non‐Vanishing Berry Curvature in (110) FeRh Antiferromagnet Films via Interface Strain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
This study demonstrates a strain‐tunable anomalous Hall response in the (110)‐oriented FeRh thin film. First‐principles calculations reveal that strain‐induced symmetry lowering redistributes Berry curvature near the Fermi level via band shifts and avoided crossings.
