Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the dose‐exposure reduction effect of a crystalline lens with a bismuth eye shield using cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT) for head image‐guided radiation therapy. The ocular surface dose of the head phantom (THRA‐1) is defined as a crystalline lens exposure dose and is measured using a radiophotoluminescence ...

Abstract Background Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) requires an accurate patient‐specific quality assurance (PSQA) program. In clinical practice, this is usually performed using the γ‐index and the two‐dimensional gamma passing rate (2D %GP). A three‐dimensional (3D) index incorporating the patient anatomy could be more useful for the 3D dose ...

Abstract The thermoluminescence dosimeter (TLD) sheet is a measurement device coated with manganese‐doped LiB3O5 in sheet form. The sheet is 0.2‐mm thick and flexible. Hence, it can fit and be installed on irregular surfaces. The current study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of measuring patient surface doses during radiation therapy using TLD sheets.

Analysis of the atom-number correlation function in a few-atom trap [PDF]
Stochastic properties of loading and loss mechanism in a few atom trap are analyzed. An approximate formula is derived for the atom-number correlation function for the trapped atoms in the limit of reasonably small two-atom loss rate. Validity of the approximate formula is confirmed by numerical simulations.
