Simulated Photoabsorption Spectra for Singly and Multiply Charged Ions

open access: yesAtoms
Simulated (or measured) photoabsorption spectra often provide the first indication of how matter interacts with light when irradiated by some radiation source. In addition to the direct, often slowly varying photoabsorption cross-section as a function of

Direct structure analysis of advanced nanomaterials by high-resolution electron microscopy

open access: yesNanotechnology Reviews, 2012
High-resolution electron microscopy (HREM) analysis has contributed to the direct structure analysis of advanced nanostructured materials, of which the properties of these materials are strongly dependent on the atomic arrangements.

Radiative Decay Rates for Electric Dipole, Magnetic Dipole and Electric Quadrupole Transitions in Triply Ionized Thulium (Tm IV)

open access: yesAtoms, 2017
A new set of radiative decay parameters (oscillator strengths, transition probabilities) for spectral lines in triply ionized thulium (Tm IV) has been obtained within the framework of the pseudo-relativistic Hartree-Fock (HFR) approach.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Are in-medium quark-gluon showers strongly coupled? results in the large-N f limit

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Inside a medium, showers originating from a very high energy particle develop via medium-induced splitting processes such as bremsstrahlung and pair production. During shower development, two consecutive splittings sometimes overlap quantum mechanically,

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Ill-posedness in limited discrete Fourier inversion and regularization for quasi distributions in LaMET

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We systematically investigated the limited inverse discrete Fourier transform of the quasi distributions from the perspective of inverse problem theory. This transformation satisfies two of Hadamard’s well-posedness criteria, existence and uniqueness of ...

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.
