Cisatracurium and Atracurium as Antigens [PDF]
Seventy-five consecutive patients referred to an anaesthetic allergy clinic were intradermally tested with atracurium and cisatracurium. With the exception of one patient the results were identical, suggesting that allergy to either drug is associated with allergy to the stereoisomer.

Recovery Profile of Atracurium versus Cisatracurium [PDF]
Introduction: Atracurium and cisatracurium are promising drugs offering a predictable recovery due to non-organ dependent elimination. However, due to the variability in metabolism and narrow therapeutic window, monitoring of neuromuscular functions has ...

ABSTRACT Background and Aims The use of neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs) in tracheal intubation is widely accepted in anesthetic induction, but adverse effects are possible. We performed a systematic review and meta‐analysis to compare influence of use and nonuse of NMBAs on incidence of laryngeal complications and intubating conditions in ...

Atracurium is associated with postoperative residual curarization.
BACKGROUND Residual paralysis following the use of neuromuscular blocking drugs remains a clinical problem. As part of departmental quality assurance, we examined the degree of postoperative residual curarization (PORC) following atracurium.

Abstract Background Emergency tracheal intubation is associated with a risk of clinical adverse events, including the risk of first‐attempt failure. Induction agents usually include a sedative and a neuromuscular blocking agent (i.e., paralytic). Whether the order of administration (i.e., sedative vs.
