Atrial appendage (LAA) occlusion is a therapeutic option for thromboembolic prevention in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients who have contraindications to oral anticoagulation (OAC) or high risk of bleeding. Traditionally, thrombus in the LAA has been considered a contraindication for LAA occlusion.
