Detection of C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) transcript in the rat heart and immune organs [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Previous studies suggested the expression of mRNA, coding for CNP, exclusively in the central nervous system. In the present study, using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique instead of the less sensitive Northern blot hybridization, CNP ...

Novel biomarkers for risk stratification in pulmonary arterial hypertension

open access: yesERJ Open Research, 2015
Risk stratification in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is paramount to identifying individuals at highest risk of death. So far, there are only limited parameters for prognostication in patients with PAH.

The Relationship Between Atrial Cardiopathy Biomarkers and Prognosis of Patients With Embolic Stroke of Undetermined Source

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2022
ObjectiveTo compare the proportion of atrial cardiopathy in patients with embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS) and other non-cardiac strokes, and to evaluate the prognostic value of atrial cardiopathy biomarkers in patients with ESUS.MethodsThis ...

Presbycusis: Pathology, Signal Pathways, and Therapeutic Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In ARHL, the stria vascularis, acting as a cochlear battery, gradually loses its ability to maintain the endocochlear potential, leading to impaired hair cell function and progressive hearing loss. Single‐cell sequencing reveals age‐related cellular changes in the cochlea, providing insights into the underlying mechanisms of aging and potential ...

Does Decreased SNX10 Serve as a Novel Risk Factor in Atrial Fibrillation of the Valvular Heart Disease? - A Case-Control Study [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, 2020
Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained arrhythmia. Sorting nexin 10 (SNX10) has been reported to be an important regulator in embryonic development and human diseases, however, little is known about its role in cardiac ...

Renal mechanism of action of rat atrial natriuretic factor.

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 1985
There has been conflict as to whether crude extracts of atrial natriuretic factor increase renal solute excretion by a hemodynamic mechanism or by direct inhibition of tubular transport.

EBBP‐Mediated Integrated Stress Response Attenuates Anthracycline‐Induced Cardiotoxicity by Inhibiting the Ferroptosis of Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
EBBP expression is significantly upregulated in DOX‐treated cardiomyocytes. Mechanistically, EBBP interacts with GRP78 to mediate K63‐linked ubiquitination, thereby attenuating the inhibitory GRP78‐PERK interaction and triggering activation of the PERK‐mediated integrated stress response (ISR).

Medical treatment of ascites in cirrhosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Medical treatment of cirrhotic ascites is essentially supportive, dictated by the patient's discomfort, impaired cardiovascular or respiratory function and potential for infection. Treatment of ‘simple’ ascites (moderate fluid accumulation, serum albumin

Atrial Natriuretic Factor and the Atrial Function [PDF]

open access: yesCardiology, 1998
Accessible online at: http://BioMedNet.com/karger Dear Sir, I read with interest the report by Takeichi et al. [1] on the relationship between left atrial function and plasma levels of atrial natriuretic peptide in patients with various types of heart disease. I would like to make three comments.
