The Lupus Damage Index Revision Program: Results From the Item Generation and Reduction Phases
Objective A data‐driven and expert/patient consensus‐based project to develop a revised Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC)/American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Damage Index (SDI) is under way supported by SLICC, ACR, and the Lupus Foundation of America. Our objective is to report the item generation and reduction phase results

ABSTRACT Atrial fibrillation (AF) increases the risk of stroke and heart failure, yet accurate quantification of AF burden in daily life remains difficult. Although smartwatch photoplethysmography (PPG) supports continuous monitoring, complex rhythms and signal noise can impair burden estimation.

Coronary Perforation During Excimer Laser Angioplasty in a Patient With Prior Thoracic Radiotherapy
ABSTRACT Background Management of heavily calcified coronary lesions remains challenging despite advances in plaque‐modifying technologies. Excimer laser coronary angioplasty (ELCA) is an effective adjunctive strategy with a low risk of no‐reflow. Case Summary A 75‐year‐old woman with non–ST‐segment elevation acute coronary syndrome and severe left ...

Determinants of impedance during radiofrequency catheter ablation in humans [PDF]
Radiofrequency catheter ablation has become the treatment of choice for selected patients with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia due to atrioventricular node reentry or the Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.

In patients with atrial fibrillation and HFmrEF/HFrEF, catheter ablation was associated with lower mortality and improved cardiac function compared with conventional medical therapy, while cardiovascular hospitalization was not significantly reduced. The overall certainty of evidence ranged from moderate to high.

Indications for modification of coexisting dual atrioventricular node pathways in patients undergoing surgical ablation of accessory atrioventricular connections [PDF]
Concomitant susceptibility to atrioventricular (AV) node reentrant tachycardia has been demonstrated in certain patients having reentrant tachycardia utilizing accessory AV connections. For those patients undergoing accessory connection ablation, AV node

This case report highlights CRT‐D with Bachmann's bundle pacing (BBP) in a patient with severe heart failure and refractory atrial fibrillation. BBP preserved atrioventricular conduction without PR prolongation, maintained left ventricular–only pacing, and was associated with suppression of atrial fibrillation and improvement in left atrial contractile
