Safety of Intra‐Amniotic and Intra‐Fetal Digoxin Administration in Late Second‐Trimester Abortion by Dilation and Evacuation

open access: yesPerspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The study's purpose was to determine the safety of two routes and doses of digoxin through assessment of systemic absorption, cardiac rhythm, and coagulation parameters injected as part of second‐trimester dilation and evacuation abortion.

AVNRT complicated by Valsalva-exacerbated radial pulsation artifacts mimicking acute ischemia: a case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
Atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT), the most common supraventricular tachycardia, occasionally present with transient ST-T changes mimicking ischemia, posing diagnostic challenges for patients.

Cerebrovascular regulation during heat stress

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Given that the brain is a highly metabolic organ and is enclosed by the skull, effective regulation of cerebral blood flow (CBF), not only for oxygen and nutrients supply but also as a means of convective heat exchange, is critical for preventing excessive elevations in brain temperature.

Neurocardiac crosstalk in inherited cardiac arrhythmias and cardiomyopathy

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend In inherited cardiac arrhythmias and cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias are typically triggered by autonomic nervous system activity. Genetic mutations linked to these conditions cause pro‐arrhythmic alterations in both cardiomyocytes and neurons, with their pathophysiological crosstalk likely amplifying the manifestation of the disease.

Potential health benefits of cold‐water immersion: the central role of PGC‐1α

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Cold‐water immersion (CWI) elicits autonomic, somato‐motoric (shivering thermogenesis), endocrine and metabolic, sensory transduction, and local biophysical effects that may converge on the transcriptional co‐activator PGC‐1α (centre).

Caenorhabditis elegans as an in vivo model system for human inherited primary arrhythmia syndromes

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Most genes involved in inherited primary arrhythmia syndromes (IPAS) are conserved in Caenorhabditis elegans, where genetic manipulation enables functional characterization of variants, identification of regulatory proteins, and in vivo drug testing.

Extracellular ionic concentration modulates arrhythmias in a simulated population of human ventricular myocytes with long QT syndrome type 3

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Schematic illustrating the in silico study pipeline. A total of 50,000 virtual myocytes were generated, which were then filtered to 7093 myocytes that fit experimentally constrained biomarkers for physiological electrical and calcium behaviour under wild‐type conditions.

Machine learning predictors of post‐radiotherapy cardiotoxicity in a Latin American breast cancer cohort: Clinical risk factors outperform cardiac dosimetry

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Background Most evidence on post‐radiotherapy cardiotoxicity (CDT) derives from Global North cohorts, and the relative contribution of baseline clinical risk versus cardiac dosimetry remains poorly characterized in Latin American populations.

Recurrent Supraventricular Tachycardia Triggered by Tea Consumption in a Postoperative Adolescent Female: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) in adolescents may be triggered by physiological stress or caffeine. We report a 16‐year‐old girl who complained of palpitations, dyspnea, and regular tachycardia (170 beats/min) after tea intake. ECG showed SVT and intravenous adenosine restored sinus rhythm.
