Quantitative Questions on Attack-Defense Trees
peer reviewedAttack-defense trees are a novel methodology for graphical security modeling and assessment. The methodology includes intuitive and formal components that can be used for quantitative analysis of attack-defense scenarios. In practice, we use

Gene turnover in the common ancestor of all C4 grasses
Understanding how plants evolve more efficient photosynthesis is important in a warming world where improving crop productivity and resilience is a global priority. By generating the first reference genomes for an early‐diverging group of grasses called the Aristidoideae, we were able to reconstruct the genetic makeup of the last common ancestor of all

WEIGHTED ATTACK TREES FOR THE CYBERSECURITY ANALYSIS OF SCADA SYSTEMS
In this paper we address the issue of security of SCADA systems; a topic of paramount importance because of the impact on physical security and very challenging because of the peculiarities that set SCADA systems aside from usual ICT networks.

This article reports the first genome sequence of a UK Alternaria brassicae isolate. Dual RNA‐sequencing profiling of A. brassicae‐infected Brassica juncea leaves identified differentially expressed genes involved in pathogenicity and host response pathways in moderately resistant Sej‐2 (2) and moderately susceptible Pusa Jaikisan cultivars.

This study provides evidence that the timing of co‐inoculation of Leptosphaeria maculans and Leptosphaeria biglobosa determine the outcome of interspecific competition and disease development on their host oilseed rape. Abstract BACKGROUND Phoma stem canker is one of the most economically damaging diseases of oilseed rape, caused by co‐existing fungal ...

Context and Motivation Attack-Defense Trees (ADTs) are a graphical notation used to model and assess security requirements. ADTs are widely popular, as they can facilitate communication between different stakeholders involved in system security evaluation, and they are formal enough to be verified, e.g., with model checkers.

This study shows that Orius laevigatus, alone or with other predators, consistently achieved the highest suppression of Thrips parvispinus and improved plant productivity. Franklinothrips vespiformis coexisted with O. laevigatus, suggesting compatibility, while Amblyseius swirskii declined, indicating incompatibility. Individually, F. vespiformis and A.

Behavioural manipulation of Psylliodes chrysocephala provides promising opportunities for sustainable pest management in oilseed rape systems. This review synthesises evidence on glucosinolates and their volatile isothiocyanate derivatives as phagostimulants and attractants, alongside the repellent or antifeedant effects of non‐host plants, plant ...

Microbiome‐mediated chemical communication in insects: Implications for pest management
Microbiome–semiochemical interactions involve the following processes: direct microbial synthesis, host gene regulation, precursor biotransformation, microbiome modulation and indirect ecological signaling. Abstract Insects rely on semiochemicals to regulate aggregation, mating, foraging, and host selection. This review synthesizes evidence that insect‐

Broadly expressed genes outperformed brain‐enriched neural targets as RNAi candidates in Halyomorpha halys. Microinjection of dsRNA targeting alpha‐soluble NSF attachment protein (Asnap) or Ras opposite protein (Rop) caused strong feeding suppression and near‐complete mortality, identifying them as promising targets for future oral or spray‐based RNAi ...
