Mapping evidence graphs to attack graphs
2012 IEEE International Workshop on Information Forensics and Security (WIFS), 2012Attack graphs compute potential attack paths from a system configuration and known vulnerabilities of a system. Evidence graphs model intrusion evidence and dependencies among them. In this paper, we show how to map evidence graphs to attack graphs. This mapping is useful for application of attack graphs and evidence graphs for forensic analysis.

Attack models and attack graphs are efficient tools to describe and analyse attack scenarios aimed at computer networks. More precisely, attack graphs give all possible scenarios for an attacker to reach a certain goal, exploiting vulnerabilities of the targeted network.

Identification of Critical-Attacks Set in an Attack-Graph
2019 IEEE 10th Annual Ubiquitous Computing, Electronics & Mobile Communication Conference (UEMCON), 2019SCADA/ICS (Supervisory Control and Data Acqui-sition/Industrial Control Systems) networks are becoming targets of advanced multi-faceted attacks, and use of attack-graphs has been proposed to model complex attacks scenarios that exploit interdependence among existing atomic vulnerabilities to stitch together the attack-paths that might compromise a ...

Adversarial Attacks and Defenses on Graphs
ACM SIGKDD Explorations Newsletter, 2021Deep neural networks (DNNs) have achieved significant performance in various tasks. However, recent studies have shown that DNNs can be easily fooled by small perturbation on the input, called adversarial attacks.

A majority of attacks on computer systems result from a combination of vulnerabilities exploited by an intruder to break into the system. An Attack Graph is a general formalism used to model security vulnerabilities of a system and all possible sequences of exploits which an intruder can use to achieve a specific goal.

Derived from attack models, attack graphs are providing an efficient way to model attack scenarios intended against computer networks. Such graphs are using CVE database in which all known vulnerabilities are gathered. The CVSS framework is aiming to give numeric scores to each vulnerability recorded in the CVE database, which represent its ...

Distributed Attack Graph Generation
IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, 2016Attack graphs show possible paths that an attacker can use to intrude into a target network and gain privileges through series of vulnerability exploits. The computation of attack graphs suffers from the state explosion problem occurring most notably when the number of vulnerabilities in the target network grows large.

Ranking Attack Graphs with Graph Neural Networks
2009Network security analysis based on attack graphs has been applied extensively in recent years. The ranking of nodes in an attack graph is an important step towards analyzing network security. This paper proposes an alternative attack graph ranking scheme based on a recent approach to machine learning in a structured graph domain, namely, Graph Neural ...
