Analysis of traditional machine learning approaches on heart attacks prediction [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Română de Informatică și Automatică
Considering the persistent challenge of early heart attack detection in patients, despite significant advancements in medical systems, this research project is motivated by the imperative need to develop effective predictive machine learning models. The

Subjective Attack Trees

open access: yesInternational Journal of Blockchain Applications and Secure Computing, 2023
Subjective attack trees (SATs) extend traditional attack trees by taking into account the uncertainty about the probability values of security events. Assigning precise values is often difficult due to lack of knowledge, or insufficient historical data, making the evaluation of risk in existing approaches unreliable, and therefore unreliable security ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Differential phase of Platypus quercivorus attacks in urban green space: A case study on 2 urban parks in Tokyo

open access: yesTrees, Forests and People
The ambrosia beetle Platypus quercivorus (Maruyama) transmits the pathogenic fungus Raffaelea quercivora Kubono et Shin. Ito, causing Japanese oak wilt and subsequent tree dieback.

The Spatiotemporal Genetic Architecture of Seed Vigor in Upland Cotton

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Leveraging the semi‐automated SeedRanger platform, we profiled the germination kinetics of 356 cotton accessions at a 30‐min interval. This high‐throughput phenomic approach delineated a temporal genetic network comprising 541 stage‐specific loci. Crucially, functional validation identified FLA2 as a pivotal, auxin‐modulated regulator that orchestrates

Exploring risk factors for insect borer attack in Georgia's (USA) urban landscapes.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Urban trees are at risk of stress due to heat island effects and the increased proportion of impervious areas surrounding them. Among pests of trees, insect borers such as bark beetles (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) and flatheaded borers (Coleoptera ...

Improvement of low level bark beetle damage estimates with adaptive cluster sampling

open access: yesSilva Fennica, 2010
Detection of low level infestation in forest stands is of principle importance to determine effective control strategies before the attack spread to large areas.

Attacker Profiling in Quantitative Security Assessment Based on Attack Trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present the results of research of limiting adversarial budget in attack games, and, in particular, in the failure-free attack tree models presented by Buldas-Stepanenko in 2012 and improved in 2013 by Buldas and Lenin. In the previously presented models attacker’s budget was assumed to be unlimited.

Multi‐Targeting Carnosic Acid Kills Drug‐Resistant Helicobacter pylori With Narrow‐Spectrum Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Carnosic acid selectively eradicates drug‐resistant Helicobacter pylori through a multi‐targeted mechanism involving urease inhibition, membrane disruption, and biofilm eradication. It exhibits no detectable resistance, potent in vivo efficacy, and minimal impact on gut microbiota, positioning it as a promising narrow‐spectrum lead compound against ...

Programmable Multi‐Axially Aligned Aerogels via Sequential Freeze‐Casting for Tailored Anisotropy and Tunable Mechanics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conventional single‐gradient freeze‐casting typically produces unidirectional porous architectures with limited transverse connectivity. The Sequential Hybridization by Infiltration and Freeze‐casting Technique (SHIFT) addresses this constraint by integrating secondary aligned structures within a preformed primary scaffold.
