Stripe and bubble ratchets on asymmetric substrates
We show that various nonmonotonic ratchet effects can arise when mesophase pattern-forming systems, which exhibit anisotropic crystal, stripe, and bubble regimes, are coupled to one-dimensional asymmetric substrates under ac driving.

H-Bonding-Induced Repulsion Between Small Groups Toward a Highly Puckered Benzene. [PDF]
A benzene derivative bearing methylamino and nitro substituents adopts a boat‐shaped ring conformation. Comparison with four related compounds supports a role for intramolecular hydrogen bonding in constraining substituent orientations and promoting local steric crowding associated with ring puckering.

A class of attraction/repulsion functions for stable swarm aggregations
In this article, for an M-member "individual-based" continuous time swarm model in an n-dimensional space, we extend the results in [1] by specifying a general class of attraction/repulsion functions that can be used to achieve swarm aggregation.

Ultra‐White Elastomeric Coatings for Daytime Radiative Cooling
Passive daytime radiative cooling meets elasticity in a new class of ultra‐white silicone coatings. Combining high solar reflectance with strong sky‐window emission, they hold surfaces below ambient temperature under full sunlight while remaining flexible and stretchable. This combination of cooling performance and mechanical flexibility enables energy‐

Segmentation with Pairwise Attraction and Repulsion
We propose a method of image segmentation by integrating pairwise attraction and directional repulsion derived from local grouping and figure-ground cues.

Direct Measurement of Interhelical DNA Repulsion and Attraction by Quantitative Cross-Linking
To better understand the forces that mediate nucleic acid compaction in biology, we developed the disulfide cross-linking approach xHEED (X-linking of Helices to measure Electrostatic Effects at Distance) to measure the distance-dependent encounter ...
