Probing global aspects of a geometry by the self-force on a charge: Spherical thin-shell wormholes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The self-interaction for a static point charge in the space-time of a thin-shell wormhole constructed connecting two identical Schwarzschild geometries is calculated in a series expansion. The electrostatic self-force is evaluated numerically.

New constraints for non-Newtonian gravity in nanometer range from the improved precision measurement of the Casimir force [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We obtain constraints on non-Newtonian gravity following from the improved precision measurement of the Casimir force by means of atomic force microscope.

Orbits in a generalized two-body problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The two-body problem is a well-known case of the general central force problem with an attractive, inverse square force. However, there are forms of spacecraft propulsion, such as solar sails and minimagnetospheric plasmapropulsion, which generate a ...

Modeling of Attractive Force by Magnetic Wheel Used for Mobile Robot

open access: yesActuators, 2020
Mobile robots that are required to climb inclined ferromagnetic surfaces typically employ magnetic wheels. In order to design magnetic wheels and to properly size the permanent magnet as magnetizing source without the need for finite element analyses, a ...

EVACUACIONES DE EMERGENCIA CON PRESENCIA DE GRUPOS SOCIALES

open access: yesAnales (Asociación Física Argentina), 2023
In this work we study how the presence of social groups affect emergency evacuations. This investigation was carried out in the context of the Social Force Model (SFM).

α′-corrections to near extremal dyonic strings and weak gravity conjecture

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We construct non-extremal dyonic string solutions in 6D minimal supergravity where the leading higher derivative corrections arise from either the type IIA string theory compactified on K3 or the heterotic string theory compactified on 4-torus.

Attractive internuclear force drives the collective behavior of nuclear arrays in Drosophila embryos.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2021
The collective behavior of the nuclear array in Drosophila embryos during nuclear cycle (NC) 11 to NC14 is crucial in controlling cell size, establishing developmental patterns, and coordinating morphogenesis.

Interplay of Three-Body Interactions in the EOS of Nuclear Matter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The equation of state of symmetric nuclear matter has been investigated within Brueckner approach adopting the charge-dependent Argonne $V_{18}$ two-body force plus a microscopic three-body force based on a meson-exchange model.
