An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Global attractivity of the equilibrium of for q \u3c p [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We investigate the global attractivity of the equilibrium of second-order difference equation xn+1 = pxn + xn-1/qx n + xn-1, n = 0, 1,... where the parameters p, q, q \u3c p and initial conditions x-1, x0 are nonnegative for all n .

L’activité informatique et l’accessibilité économique

open access: yesNetcom, 2009
Through the study of three territories of the Parisian metropolis, in relation to a political, economic and territorial approach, our analysis results in drawing a picture on the tendencies of localization of the computing activity which take place in ...

Qualitative analysis for two fractional difference equations

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2020
Some difference equations are generally studied by investigating their long behaviours rather than their exact solutions. The proposed equations cannot be solved analytically.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Global attractivity in a genotype selection model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We obtain a sufficient condition for the global attractivity of the genotype selection model yn+1=yneβn(1−2yn−k)/(1−yn+yneβn(1−2yn−k)), n∈ℕ. Our results improve the results established by Grove et al. (1994) and Kocić and Ladas (1993)

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Measuring destination attractivity: a migration example [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The power of places to draw migrants is a topic of fundamental interest in geographical and related social studies and also in policy circles. This paper describes and demonstrates the utility of a measure of migration attractivity which is considered ...
