Authorship Attribution Using Relative Compression

2016 Data Compression Conference (DCC), 2016
Authorship attribution is a classical classification problem. We use it here to illustrate the performance of a compression-based measure that relies on the notion of relative compression. Besides comparing with recent approaches that use multiple discriminant analysis and support vector machines, we compare it with the Normalized Conditional ...

Registration by using a pseudo color attribute

2008 19th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2008
This paper presents a new variant of the classical Iterative Closest Point (ICP) algorithm. The ICP result depends heavily on the matching between 3D points of the two cloud of points to be registered : besides the 3D distance between points, many other attributes have been proposed to find good matchings, and especially, when available, color or ...

Insider Misuse Attribution using Biometrics

Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security, 2017
Insider misuse has become a major risk for many organizations. One of the most common forms of misuses is data leakage. Such threats have turned into a real challenge to overcome and mitigate. Whilst prevention is important, incidents will inevitably occur and as such attribution of the leakage is key to ensuring appropriate recourse.

Attribute support for inter-domain use

[1992] Proceedings The Computer Security Foundations Workshop V, 2003
This paper describes the user attribute service (UAS), a tool providing the storage and management of application-specific per-user security attributes for applications running in a distributed environment. The UAS provides for the security and integrity of attribute-to-user bindings, as well as the secrecy of those bindings, if the application or user

Authorship Attribution Using Syntactic Dependencies

2016
Authorship attribution deals with the prediction of the author of a (usually written) discourse. This is of high relevance to a number of applications, including plagiarism detection, authenticity verification and deception detection. So far, most of the state-of-the-art approaches to author attribution rely mainly upon lexical and token (sequence ...

Access Control Using Attribute Certificates

Information Systems Security, 2000
Abstract Traditional approaches to access control generally fall into one of three categories: 1. subject profile 2. rule-based or access control list (ACL) 3. resource profile In discussions of access control, it is neccessary to determine who may access what and how or under what conditions. To help keep the players straight, the “who” is called the “

Abstract interpretation using attribute grammars

1990
This paper deals with the correctness proofs of attribute grammars using methods from abstract interpretation. The technique will be described by defining a live-variable analysis for a small flow-chart language and proving it correct with respect to a continuation style semantics.

Use of attribute grammars in compiler construction

1990
Attribute grammars were initially proposed as a tool for describing language semantics. Despite many years of development, however, they have had little impact upon practical compiler construction. Clearly attribute grammars are not the panacea claimed by some of their devotees; this paper considers their actual role in compiler construction.
