Atypical fibroxanthoma (AFX) is a rare skin tumor characterized by a combination of a «malignant» morphological features and non-aggressive clinical course. Diagnosing AFX is challenging due to histological «diversity» and heterogeneous immunophenotype. The presented review describes the history and evolution of AFX as a nosological form of cancer, its

Meningiomas are the most common primary CNS tumor in adults, representing a third of brain lesions. Their clinical presentation varies greatly, ranging from asymptomatic incidental tumor to fatal tumor. The majority of meningiomas are benign, and gross total resection can achieve very low recurrence rates, with radiation therapy or radiosurgery ...

The psychiatric literature contains numerous accounts of psychoses found worldwide that do not fit classic definitions of schizophrenia, manic-depression, or organic brain syndrome. These vaguely defined 'atypical psychoses' are under scrutiny because of growing knowledge and more rigorous methodology in descriptive and cross-cultural psychiatry.

Pattern recognition receptors, including members of the NLR and PYHIN families, are essential for recognition of both pathogen- and host-derived danger signals. A number of molecules in these families are capable of forming multiprotein complexes termed inflammasomes that result in the activation of caspase-1.
