Imaging of atypical choroid plexus papillomas

The authors report a rare case of benign choroid plexus papilloma arising in the cerebellopontine angle (CPA) in a 34-year-old man. Atypical features are described. Choroid Plexus Papillomas (CPPs) are rare neoplasms (0.4-0.6 % of all brain tumors) arising from cuboidal epithelial cells of the choroid plexus. Atypical choroid plexus papillomas are even more rare and characterized by aggressive features of increased mitotic activity and frequent metastases even at diagnosis.

Isolated lumbar atypical choroid plexus papilloma: a case report

To report the first case of an isolated lumbar grade II atypical choroid plexus papilloma (CPP).A 42-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of back and leg pain. No urinary or rectal dysfunction was detected. Lumbar magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a well-circumscribed, contrast-enhancing, intradural extramedullary mass at L2-3.
