Isolation and Characterization of a Porcine Getah Virus Strain from Sichuan Province [PDF]
Following its initial documented emergence in Hunan’s swine facilities in 2017, GETV has inflicted considerable financial damage upon China’s pork production sector. Beyond its impact on swine, GETV also poses a potential risk to other animal species and

Different Types of Vaccines against Pestiviral Infections: “Barriers” for “Pestis”
The genus Pestivirus of the family Flaviviridae mainly comprises classical swine fever virus (CSFV), bovine viral diarrhea virus 1 (BVDV-1), BVDV-2, border disease virus (BDV), and multiple new pestivirus species such as atypical porcine pestivirus (APPV)

Investigation into an outbreak of Border disease virus in pigs in England
Abstract Border disease (BD) was first reported in 1959 in lambs from the border region of England and Wales. The causative virus (BD virus; BDV) has since been identified in several other ruminant species and pigs. The virus is prevalent in sheep flocks of UK, Europe and USA and has potential to inflict substantial economic losses.

Chimeric molecules comprising an Xrn1‐resistant RNA motif (xrRNA) and a small interfering RNA (siRNA) duplex were engineered. The molecules self‐assemble in vitro, resist degradation by the conserved eukaryotic 5’ to 3’ exoribonuclease Xrn1, and trigger gene silencing in mammalian cells.

Abstract Porcine circovirus 3 (PCV‐3) was discovered in 2015 using next‐generation sequencing (NGS) methods. Since then, the virus has been detected worldwide in pigs displaying several clinical–pathological outcomes as well as in healthy animals. The objective of this review is to critically discuss the evidence existing so far regarding PCV‐3 as a ...

Comparative analysis of tunisian sheep-like virus, bungowannah virus and border disease virus infection in the porcine host [PDF]
Apart from the established pestivirus species Pestivirus A to Pestivirus K novel species emerged. Pigs represent not only hosts for porcine pestiviruses, but are also susceptible to bovine viral diarrhea virus, border disease virus (BDV) and other ...

Detection and Investigation of Atypical Porcine Pestivirus within a Breed-to-Finish Farm and Off-Site Nursery and Finisher Locations [PDF]
Atypical porcine pestivirus (APPV) has been associated with congenital tremors (CT) and splay leg (SL) in piglets of infected dams. The major cost of this virus is the increased pre-weaning mortality due to CT or SL interfering with the piglet’s ability ...

Decrypting the Origin and Pathogenesis in Pregnant Ewes of a New Ovine Pestivirus Closely Related to Classical Swine Fever Virus [PDF]
This study shows the origin and the pathogenic role of a novel ovine pestivirus (OVPV) isolated in 2017 in Italy, as a pathogenic agent causing severe abortions after infection in pregnant ewes and high capacity for virus trans-placental transmission as ...
