Photochemical Synthesis of Au@Pd Core-Shell Nanoparticles for Methanol Oxidation Reaction: the Promotional Effect of the Au Core

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
A novel method for synthesizing Au@Pd core-shell nanoparticles was proposed based on photochemistry. By irradiating the mixture of Au (III) and Pd (II) ions using ultraviolet light, the Au@Pd core-shell nanoparticles were prepared.

Enantioselective Separation on Chiral Au Nanoparticles

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2010
The surfaces of chemically synthesized Au nanoparticles have been modified with d- or l-cysteine to render them chiral and enantioselective for adsorption of chiral molecules. Their enantioselective interaction with chiral compounds has been probed by optical rotation measurements during exposure to enantiomerically pure and racemic propylene oxide ...

Direct evidence for ferromagnetic spin polarization in gold nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We report the first direct observation of ferromagnetic spin polarization of Au nanoparticles with a mean diameter of 1.9 nm using X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD). Owing to the element selectivity of XMCD, only the gold magnetization is explored.

Nanocomposite NiO:Au hydrogen sensors with high sensitivity and low operating temperature

open access: yes, 2013
We present results on the development of nanocomposite NiO:Au thin-film hydrogen sensors, which are able to detect hydrogen concentrations as low as 2 ppm in air, operating at low temperatures in the range 125-150C.

Particle growing mechanisms in Ag-ZrO2 and Au-ZrO2 granular films obtained by pulsed laser deposition

open access: yes, 2006
Thin films consisting of Ag and Au nanoparticles embedded in amorphous ZrO2 matrix were grown by pulsed laser deposition in a wide range of metal volume concentrations in the dielectric regime (0 ...

Magnetic properties of epsilon iron(III) oxide nanorod arrays functionalized with gold and copper(II) oxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A sequential chemical vapor deposition (CVD) - radio frequency (RF)-sputtering approach was adopted to fabricate supported nanocomposites based on the scarcely investigated \u3b5-iron(III) oxide polymorph.

DNA-Templated Preparation of Gold Nanoparticles

open access: yesMolecules, 2011
DNA-mediated gold nanoparticles were prepared by chemical reduction of DNA-Au(III) complex. The DNA-Au(III) was first formed by reacting DNA with HAuCl4 at a pH of 5.6. The complex in solution was reacted with hydrazine reducing Au(III) to Au.

Directed deposition of silicon nanowires using neopentasilane as precursor and gold as catalyst [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this work the applicability of neopentasilane (Si(SiH3)4) as a precursor for the formation of silicon nanowires by using gold nanoparticles as a catalyst has been explored.
