Intelligibility and Listening Effort of Spanish Oesophageal Speech
Communication is a huge challenge for oesophageal speakers, be it for interactions with fellow humans or with digital voice assistants. We aim to quantify these communication challenges (both human−human and human−machine interactions) by ...

An Edible Chitosan‐Based Acoustic Sensor for Sound‐Responsive Actuation in Edible Robots
This study introduces an edible acoustic sensor for robotic food and edible robotics. Built from a chitosan piezoelectric film between gold electrodes, the sensor enables acoustic communication through ON/OFF keying. Integrated into an edible robot with pneumatically actuated arms and neck, it responds to high‐frequency tones.

The sensitivity matrix : Using advanced auditory models in speech and audio processing
Perceptually optimal processing of speech and audio signals demands a rigorous approach using a distortion measure that resembles human perception. This requires distortion measures based on sophisticated, complex auditory models. Under the assumption of

Perceptual Loss Function for Neural Modelling of Audio Systems
This work investigates alternate pre-emphasis filters used as part of the loss function during neural network training for nonlinear audio processing. In our previous work, the error-to-signal ratio loss function was used during network training, with a ...
