Monitoring auditory evoked potentials

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2005
A method and an apparatus for extracting signals which are indicative of the level of consciousness of a patient comprises subjecting the patient to a repetitive audio stimulus, monitoring AEP produced by the patient using an autoregressive model with exogenous input, and then calculating an index (AAI), which is displayed or used otherwise, indicative

Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials

2007
Brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BAEPs) are electrical field potentials generated by stimulation of the auditory pathways. With repetitive auditory stimulation, reproducible electrical potentials can be elicited and recorded from scalp electrodes. These waves are generated by specific brain regions and occur at predictable intervals.

Monitoring Auditory Evoked Potentials

2010
Monitoring of the auditory system makes use of subcortical evoked potentials [Auditory Brainstem Responses (ABR) and CAP recorded from the exposed auditory nerve]. These modalities of evoked potentials are not affected by commonly used anesthetics.
