Clinical dilemma of mood stabilizer augmentation in treatment‐resistant schizophrenia with residual phase: A case report of valproate‐associated hypoglycemia and cytopenia, and subsequent lithium response

open access: yesPCN Reports
Background Mood stabilizer augmentation is frequently used in treatment‐resistant schizophrenia despite limited guideline recommendations. Evidence for its efficacy and safety in the residual phase, however, remains insufficient.

Comparison of analgesic therapies in traumatic vertebral compression fractures: Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty versus thermal facet ablation—a prospective randomized trial

open access: yesNorth American Spine Society Journal
: Background: Vertebral augmentation techniques are common for painful vertebral compression fractures (VCFs). Radiofrequency thermal facet ablation (RFA) is a potential alternative analgesic therapy, but comparative data remains limited.

Coixenolide Enhances Antitumor Immunity of Cytotoxic CD8+ T Cells by Inhibiting S100A8/A9‐CD36 Axis in Obesity‐Associated Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD) remains highly lethal with limited treatment options. This study demonstrates that coixenolide, a bioactive compound from Coix lacryma‐jobi L. and a key component of the clinically approved Kanglaite injection, exhibits enhanced antitumor efficacy in high‐fat diet (HFD)‐induced obese mice bearing PAAD tumors compared to

Rab1A Promotes Hepatic Steatosis by Suppressing Mitophagy via the Raf‐1/ERK1/2/PINK1 Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Why does fat accumulate in the liver? Our study reveals Rab1A as the molecular switch that silences the cell's mitochondrial cleanup crew. Turning Rab1A off reactivates mitophagy, clears excess fat, and reverses fatty liver disease in mice—offering a promising new therapeutic target for MASLD, a growing global health challenge.
