Cosmology as Relativistic Particle Mechanics: From Big Crunch to Big Bang [PDF]
Cosmology can be viewed as geodesic motion in an appropriate metric on an `augmented' target space; here we obtain these geodesics from an effective relativistic particle action.

Abstract Accurately simulating multiphase flows at low capillary numbers remains challenging due to spurious currents and interface discretization errors. We present a systematic comparison of four volume‐of‐fluid (VOF) solvers within the OpenFOAM framework for pressure‐driven Poiseuille–Bingham flow over grooved surfaces: interFoam with classical ...

ABSTRACT This study investigates how internal governance design supports credible ESG performance by distinguishing between Incentive and Oversight Architectures. Using 13,993 firm‐year observations of US nonfinancial firms from 2018 to 2024, we estimate fixed effects and two‐step system GMM models.

This paper investigates the high‐pressure water jet‐pick combined rock‐breaking mode (HPC), which employs high‐pressure water jets to precut grooves on both sides of the picks. The rock‐breaking patterns and performance of the HPC method are obtained, and the auxiliary rock‐breaking mechanism of water jet grooving is revealed.

Intramolecular (RO)2PO→Halogen interaction versus intermolecular (RO)2PO···HOH hydrogen bonds. Although the O···I distance is shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radii of the atoms involved, there is no covalency involved in this interaction.

Combining Deep Image Prior and Second-Order Generalized Total Variance for Image Denoising
Deep image prior is a classical unsupervised deep learning method that does not require plenty of training samples, because in some practical applications, like medical imaging, collecting tons of training samples is not always viable.

This research explores how fluid flow, structural movement, and sound interact in an elastic baffle system. Using a numerical approach based on the finite element method, the study analyzes how noise and vibrations change with different baffle configurations. The findings reveal that shortening the baffle by half reduces noise transmission by 9%, while

Topological mass generation in four-dimensional gauge theory
The Lagrangian of non-Abelian tensor gauge fields describes the interaction of the Yang-Mills and massless tensor bosons of increasing helicities. We have found a metric-independent gauge invariant density which is a four-dimensional analog of the Chern ...

Low‐Carbon Optimal Scheduling of Multiple Virtual Power Plants Based on Asymmetric Nash Bargaining
ABSTRACT To effectively investigate the structural discrepancies and complementary energy characteristics among multiple virtual power plants (VPPs), and to improve the economic efficiency, low‐carbon performance, and operational reliability of the multi‐agent system, this paper proposes a low‐carbon collaborative optimal operation strategy for ...
