Characterization of the Austenite Reformation Mechanisms as a Function of the Initial Ferritic State in a UNS S32304 Duplex Stainless Steel [PDF]
Aiming to better understand the effects of heat treatment parameters on Ferrite-Austenite phase transformation in a 2304 duplex stainless steel different thermal cycles were applied to this steel in a quenching dilatometer.

Evolution of Austenite Recrystallization and Grain Growth Using Laser Ultrasonics
Laser ultrasonics is a noncontacting technique with which the attenuation of ultrasonic signals can be measured and related to the grain size of the investigated material. In the present article, a laser-ultrasonic grain-size measurement technique previously developed for various C-Mn and microalloyed steels has been extended to examine austenite ...

Assessing Altered Coating Adhesion on Plasma‐Deoxidized Surfaces Under Oxygen‐Free Conditions
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of atmospheric pressure plasma pretreatment in modifying silicon and stainless steel surfaces to improve adhesion. Argon‐hydrogen plasma increases surface roughness and improves adhesion strength, whereas pure argon results in smoother surfaces and structural changes.

The subject of this work is the development of a corrosion‐protective coating on steel sheets for form hardening. Rapid heating in an extreme high vacuum (XHV)‐adequate atmosphere is a useful method to prevent oxidation during alloying of 22MnB5 and aluminum to obtain a metallurgical bonding.

A new study on the growth behavior of austenite grains during heating processes
In this paper, the effects of the heating temperature and holding time on the austenite grain growth of SCM435 steel were studied and analyzed in terms of the average, macro-axis and minor-axis size of the grains. The results indicated that the classical

Cladding is a proven method that boosts the surface qualities of mechanical parts by applying a layer of more durable material over a base substrate. This work responds to the needs of offshore and pressure vessels sectors by focusing on cladding a super austenitic steel onto low‐carbon steel through gas tungsten arc welding.
