Study of the Crystallization Behavior and the Subsequent Martensitic Transformation in a High Chromium Cast Steel submitted to Different Austenitization Temperatures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The crystallization behavior a High Chromium Cast Steel (HCCS) has been determined under Equilibrium conditions with ThermoCalc® software, and under non-Equilibrium conditions through Differential Thermal Analyses (DTA).

Austenitic ductile iron for low temperature applications

open access: yesArchives of Foundry Engineering, 2009
The study presents the results of mechanical tests carried out on austenitic ductile iron with varied nickel content and additions of chromium and vanadium. The tests and investigations were carried out over a wide range of temperatures, i.e.

Effect of temperature on mechanical response of austenitic materials

open access: yes, 2011
Global increase in energy consumption and global warming require more energy production but less CO2emission. Increase in efficiency of energy production is an effective way for this purpose. This can be reached by increasing boiler temperature and pressure in a biomass power plant.

Effect of Austenitization Temperature on Formation of Low Temperature Bainite

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
The influence of austenitization temperature on the incubation period and bainitic transformation behaviours of the high-carbon silicon steel has been investigated. It was found that the nose temperature of bainite transformation and incubation period decreases with increasing austenitization temperature.

Aspects of Austenitization for the Bearing Steel Induction Quenching Design [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2023
The dissolution of carbides during the heating to the quenching temperature has a significant effect on the martensite oversaturation and the resulting mechanical properties. The kinetics of dissolution can be influenced by various external factors. This

Model Predictive Control of the Exit Part Temperature for an Austenitization Furnace [PDF]

open access: yesProcesses, 2016
Quench hardening is the process of strengthening and hardening ferrous metals and alloys by heating the material to a specific temperature to form austenite (austenitization), followed by rapid cooling (quenching) in water, brine or oil to introduce a ...
