An Improved Authenticated Encryption Scheme

open access: yesIEICE Transactions on Information and Systems, 2011
Authenticated encryption schemes are very useful for private and authenticated communication. In 2010, Rasslan and Youssef showed that the Hwang et al.'s authenticated encryption scheme is not secure by presenting a message forgery attack. However, Rasslan and Youssef did not give how to solve the security issue.

Transparent memory encryption and authentication

2017 27th International Conference on Field Programmable Logic and Applications (FPL), 2017
Security features of modern (SoC) FPGAs permit to protect the confidentiality of hard- and software IP when the devices are powered off as well as to validate the authenticity of IP when being loaded at startup. However, these approaches are insufficient since attackers with physical access can also perform attacks during runtime, demanding for ...

On the soundness of authenticate-then-encrypt

Proceedings of the 17th ACM conference on Computer and communications security, 2010
A communication channel from an honest sender A to an honest receiver B can be described as a system with three interfaces labeled A, B, and E (the adversary), respectively, where the security properties of the channel are characterized by the capabilities provided at the E-interface.A security mechanism, such as encryption or a message authentication ...

Authentication by Encrypted Negative Password

IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, 2019
Secure password storage is a vital aspect in systems based on password authentication, which is still the most widely used authentication technique, despite some security flaws. In this paper, we propose a password authentication framework that is designed for secure password storage and could be easily integrated into existing authentication systems ...

Authenticated Broadcast Encryption Scheme

21st International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications Workshops (AINAW'07), 2007
With the advancement of wireless networks and mobile access devices such as cell phones and PDAs, multimedia services could be offered through wireless broadcast networks to these mobile devices. Therefore, there is a need to securely deliver multimedia content/data to many users over an insecure channel.

Identity-Based Authenticated Broadcast Encryption and Distributed Authenticated Encryption

2004
Since its introduction, broadcast encryption has attracted many useful applications. In this paper, we propose two identity-based schemes for authenticated broadcasting and distributed message authentication. The first scheme supports multiple broadcasters and allows each broadcaster to dynamically broadcast messages into an arbitrary group of ...

Authenticated encryption for FPGA bitstreams

Proceedings of the 19th ACM/SIGDA international symposium on Field programmable gate arrays, 2011
FPGA bitstream encryption blocks theft of the design in the FPGA bitstream by preventing unauthorized copy and reverse engineering. By itself, encryption does not protect against tampering with the bitstream, so without additional capabilities, bitstream encryption cannot prevent the FPGA from executing an unauthorized bitstream.

An Image Encryption and Authentication Scheme

2011 Seventh International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Security, 2011
In this paper, a fast image encryption and authentication scheme is presented. In the proposed scheme, a 512-bit message authentication code generated by a keyed hash function is embedded into the image by reversible data embedding technique. Then the embedded image is masked by the pseudo random sequence in feedback mode.
