Extendible tracking by line auto-calibration

Proceedings IEEE and ACM International Symposium on Augmented Reality, 2002
One of the key requirements for an augmented reality system is a tracking system that determines the user's viewpoint accurately. Many vision-based tracking systems exhibit limited tracking range due to their dependence on pre-calibrated features. Previous extendible-tracking systems only make use of point features.

Auto-Calibration of a Compound-Type Omnidirectional Camera

Digital Image Computing: Techniques and Applications (DICTA'05), 2005
We propose a method for auto-calibrating a compound-type omnidirectional camera (system). This camera produces spherical panoramic image through stitching some individual images captured by several modular cameras, each of which covers a different field of view of the full viewing sphere. By auto-calibration we mean that our algorithm works online in a

An Auto-Calibration Method for Unattended Ground Sensors

IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing, 2001
We present an algorithm for locating and orienting a set of sensor arrays that have been deployed in a scene at unknown locations and orientation angles. This self-calibration problem is solved using a number of source signals also deployed in the scene.

Auto-calibrating surround system

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2007
A multi-channel surround sound system and method is described that allows automatic and independent calibration and adjustment of the frequency, amplitude and time response of each channel of the surround sound system. The disclosed auto-calibrating surround sound (ACSS) system includes a processor that generates a test signal represented by a temporal

Online Auto-Calibration in Man-Made Worlds

DICTA ' 05. Proceedings Digital Image Computing: Technqiues and Applications, 2005., 2005
This paper proposes a method to auto-calibrate a static camera in man-made worlds. The calibration is done with vanishing points which are estimated with line segments. Instead of a single image, the method uses constantly acquired images from a camera.

Auto-calibration for a parallel manipulator with sensor redundancy

2003 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (Cat. No.03CH37422), 2004
In this paper, we propose two algorithms for the auto-calibration of the home position or the joint angle offsets for a parallel manipulator by utilizing the extra sensor(s) information (sensor redundancy), sampling over the workspace, and optimizing a suitably chosen cost function, without resorting to any other external equipment.

Auto‐calibration approach for k–t SENSE

Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2013
PurposeThe goal of this work is to increase the spatial resolution of training data, used by reconstruction methods such as k–t SENSE in order to calculate the missing data in a series of dynamic images, without compromising their temporal resolution or acquisition time.TheoryThe k‐t SENSE method allows dynamic imaging at high acceleration factors with

Auto-calibrating adaptive array for mobile telecommunications

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2000
A major concern for adaptive antennas is the calibration of hardware. Here we consider the calibration of an analog beamformer (ABF), which calculates the weights in a digital signal processor (DSP), but weights the RF signals using a hardware beamformer. Two novel methods are presented of performing a calibration of this adaptive antenna during normal

THE “SYMMETRISCHE OPTIMUM” AND THE AUTO-CALIBRATION OF PID CONTROLLERS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992
Abstract The paper presents a method for the auto-calibration of PI and PID controllers when one point of the frequency characteristics (gain and phase) of the controlled plant is identified (for example using a closed loop relay experiment). The tuning rules are inspired from the "Symmetrische Optimum" (the symmetrical optimum) principles introduced
