Rare case of warm IgM autoimmune hemolytic anemia. [PDF]
Abstract Cold agglutinins are IgM‐mediated autoimmune hemolytic processes that most often cause destruction of red blood cells at colder temperatures. Here we describe a case of a patient with history of living donor renal transplantation that developed an atypical autoantibody causing profound anemia and hemolysis which, although IgM in nature ...

Prevalence of a Novel Immunogenic Feline Erythrocyte Antigen (FEA 6) and Expression Patterns Between FEAs. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Background After the identification of five novel feline erythrocyte antigens (FEAs) and evidence establishing FEA 1's immunogenicity, attempts to sensitize a cat to FEA 4 unexpectedly resulted in the production of alloantibodies directed against an unknown antigen, named FEA 6.

Simulated RBC antibody identification training panels created using SARS-CoV-2 kodecytes and immune plasma. [PDF]
Abstract Background Training is essential to develop and maintain skills required to be a competent serologist, yet samples required to achieve this are often difficult to obtain. We evaluated the feasibility of SARS‐CoV‐2 peptide modified RBCs (1144‐kodecytes) to develop simulated antibody screening and identification panels of reagent RBCs suitable ...

Abstract Background Blood transfusions are performed frequently in goats, but crossmatches are rarely performed. Hypothesis/Objectives Determine differences in the frequency of agglutination and hemolytic crossmatch reactions between large and small breed goats. Animals Healthy adult goats, 10 large and 10 small breed.

The electrocrystallization of a charge‐transfer complex is studied on micro/nanoelectrodes, from the earliest stage of nanocluster nucleation to the final crystal grown purposefully across neighboring electrodes, by varying key control parameters: applied potential, precursor concentration, and electrode geometry.

Abstract Background The Jr blood group system includes a single, high‐prevalence antigen, Jra, encoded by the ABCG2 gene. The impact of anti‐Jra in pregnancy is variable, ranging from no clinical effect to severe anemia including some fetal deaths. Case reports have postulated that anti‐Jra mediated fetal anemia is poorly hemolytic, suggesting other ...

Background. Mixed warm/cold autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is a rare diagnostic entity with limited therapeutic options. Previous literature has described the diagnostic difficulty in this pathology and the limited response rates to corticosteroids. Furthermore, there is limited evidence regarding the use of rituximab in this condition.

Introduction. The risk of developing transfusion‐related complications, especially alloimmunization, is an ongoing concern for transfusion‐dependent patients. It is important to determine the rate of alloimmunization and autoimmunization in Al‐Ahsa Region, Saudi Arabia, where sickle cell disease (SCD) and thalassemia incidence rates are the highest in ...

Abstract Magrolimab (Hu5F9‐G4) is a first‐in‐class anti‐CD47 IgG4 monoclonal antibody, with potential applications in several malignancies including myelodysplastic syndrome. CD47 blockade in malignancy has been shown to promote antitumour effects.

This study found that in patients with symptomatic cerebral artery occlusion who had impaired hemodynamics, adjunctive therapy with chronic (>10 years) remote ischemic conditioning RIC was well tolerated, and it might be associated with low annual risks of stroke (2.4%) and ischemic cerebrovascular events (3.3%).
