We study the effects of heat and high temperature shocks on inflation in Australia using monthly, state‐level temperature anomaly data via two stages. In the first stage, we decompose temperature anomalies into orthogonal components using a structural vector autoregression with long‐run restrictions.

Abstract Ecologists are adapting structural causal modelling for spatial, phylogenetic and time‐series analysis. However, ecological extensions of path analysis and structural equation models (SEM) typically assume that interactions among variables are stationary, linear and additive, while ecological and evolutionary dynamics are often nonstationary ...

Quality control of DEMs using check surfaces
This paper proposes the use of check surfaces or ‘patches’ for the assessment of Digital Elevation Model (DEM) elevations and derived variables (e.g. slope and aspect).

Estimating the Parameters of Degradation Models when Error Terms are Autocorrelated
The need of autocorrelation models for degradation data comes from the facts that the degradation measurements are often correlated, since such measurements are taken over time.

The gopher tortoise (Gopherus polyphemus), a keystone species and ecosystem engineer, has declined by ~80% over the past century due to primarily habitat loss. In a 28‐year resurvey of federally protected Mobile County and state‐protected Baldwin County, we found tortoise populations persisted at ~59% and ~31% of sites, respectively, with significant ...

Monitoring of the BTA Deep Hole Drilling Process Using Residual Control Charts [PDF]
Deep hole drilling methods are used for producing holes with a high lengthto- diameter ratio, good surface finish and straightness. The process is subject to dynamic disturbances usually classified as either chatter vibration or spiralling. In this work,

Abstract The United Nations and European Union have set ambitious conservation goals to halt and reverse declines in biodiversity by protecting 30% of land and sea areas by 2030. Effective conservation planning requires evidence‐based spatial prioritization to maximize the coverage of species within designated protected areas.

New renewal approximations for autocorrelated processes in delay systems [PDF]
In this thesis, we first propose a new three-parameter renewal approximation for auto-correlated streams with limiting index of dispersion less than unity.

A Comparison of Decision Methods for C pk When Data are Autocorrelated [PDF]
In many industrial applications, autocorrelated data are becoming increasingly common due to, for example, on-line data collection systems with high-frequency sampling.
