Autologous Blood Reinfusion in Patients Undergoing Bilateral Total Hip Arthroplasty

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery, 2011
Purpose. To compare the rate and unit of allogeneic blood transfusion in one-stage bilateral total hip arthroplasty (THA) in patients with and without autologous blood reinfusion. Methods. Records of a consecutive series of 43 men and 33 women aged 25 to

Neutrophil Macrophage Crosstalk via Extracellular Vesicles Drives Reverse Migration in a Fully Human Model of Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel microphysiological system that can mimic sterile or non‐sterile injury demonstrates that macrophage‐derived extracellular vesicles modulate neutrophil migratory responses to these different wound states. The model showed that resolution of inflammation through neutrophil reverse migration is driven by IL‐8 derived from extracellular vesicles ...

Microsphere Strategy to Generate Conformal Bone Organoid Units with Osteoimmunomodulation and Sustainable Oxygen Supply for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oxygen‐releasing immunomodulatory microspheres are used to construct conformal bone organoid units that enhance osteogenesis, angiogenesis, and immune regulation. By integrating BMSCs, macrophages, and CaO₂‐HAp into a SilMA‐based hydrogel platform, this strategy provides sustained oxygen supply and anti‐inflammatory microenvironments, leading to ...

Aligned Conductive Magnetic Nanofibers with Directional Magnetic Field Stimulation Promotes Peripheral Nerve Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peripheral nerve injury necessitates alternatives to autografts. This study combines magnetic nanoparticles, oriented PCL fibers, and Ppy to create a conductive, magnetically active scaffold. In vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated enhanced downstream pathways of calcium signaling, as revealed by transcriptome analysis.
