Dimensions of cooperative driving, its and automation

open access: yes2015 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV), 2015
Wireless technology supporting vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication, allow vehicles and infrastructures to exchange information, and cooperate. Cooperation among the actors in an intelligent transport system (ITS) can introduce several benefits, for instance, increase safety, comfort, efficiency.

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Sampled-Data Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control for String-Stable Vehicle Platooning with Communication Delays: A Linear Matrix Inequality Approach

open access: yesMachines
This study aims to propose a sampled-data control technique, utilizing a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, to achieve string-stable vehicle platooning in a cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) system with communication delays.

Physics of automated-driving vehicular traffic

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2023
We have found that a variety of phase transitions occurring between three traffic phases (free flow (F), synchronized flow (S), and wide moving jam (J)) determine the spatiotemporal dynamics of traffic consisting of 100% automated-driving vehicles moving on a two-lane road with an on-ramp bottleneck.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Fluid Interface Concept for Automated Driving

open access: yes, 2020
The biggest challenge for a human-machine interface in highly automated vehicles is to provide enough information to the potentially unaware human operator to induce an appropriate response avoiding cognitive overload. Current interface design struggles to provide timely and relevant information tailored for future driver’s needs.

Influences of Vehicle Communication on Human Driving Reactions: A Simulator Study on Reaction Times and Behavior for Forensic Accident Analysis

open access: yesSensors
Cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITSs) are mass-produced and sold in Europe, promising enhanced safety and comfort. Direct vehicle communication, known as vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication, is crucial in this context.

Risk Estimation for Automated Driving

open access: yesCoRR
Safety is a central requirement for automated vehicles. As such, the assessment of risk in automated driving is key in supporting both motion planning technologies and safety evaluation. In automated driving, risk is characterized by two aspects. The first aspect is the uncertainty on the state estimates of other road participants by an automated ...
