Biomarkers in Glaucoma: From Diagnosis to Future Therapeutic Strategies
Glaucoma biomarkers offer new possibilities for overcoming pressure‐based diagnostics and taking precision medicine into account. Glaucoma biomarkers include genetics, epigenetics, proteins, metabolomics, inflammation, and microbiome‐related markers which may facilitate early diagnosis, risk assessment, and disease progression monitoring.

Abstract Purpose To investigate the diagnostic performance of ultrasound, 2‐deoxy‐2‐[18F]fluoro‐D‐glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (2‐[18F]FDG PET/CT) and temporal artery biopsy (TAB) in giant cell arteritis (GCA). Methods This was a prospective single‐centre diagnostic accuracy study (ClinicalTrials.gov NCT05248906).

Australian and New Zealand Glaucoma Society (ANZGS) Consensus on Interventional Glaucoma
ABSTRACT Background Traditional reactive ‘wait and see’ approaches in glaucoma management often result in unacceptable rates of permanent vision loss. This consensus defines a proactive ‘interventional glaucoma’ framework tailored for the Australian and New Zealand healthcare context. Methods A modified Delphi consensus process was utilised, consisting

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Is Characterized by a Distinct Proteomic Profile
Objectives The pathophysiology of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is poorly understood and disease‐specific biomarkers are lacking. We aimed to shed light on IIH pathophysiology and identify disease‐specific biomarkers. Methods This prospective cross‐sectional cohort study included patients with new‐onset IIH and age‐, body mass index‐, and ...
