Automatic Combustion Control

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1931
Equipment for the automatic control of combustion in modern steam plants is installed as much to achieve operating speed and simplicity as it is to effect operating economy. Fundamentals of typical systems are outlined here.

AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEMS

Water Research, 1972
Each of these has its place in a modern, large, plant. The operational needs of each section of the plant need to be evaluated in terms of manpower, both operational and maintenance, effectiveness, reliability, and cost in terms of both capital and revenue.

Automatic Motor Control

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1909
Of the various systems for controlling electric motors, none surpass in interest and economic importance those which make use of electrically actuated switches controlled by automatic or semi-automatic means. A few years ago the drum controller was quite sufficient for any motor then in use.

The automatic control telelab

IEEE Control Systems, 2004
A remote laboratory for automatic control is presented. The main aim of this laboratory is to allow students to easily interact with a set of physical processes through the Internet. The student can run experiments, change control parameters, and analyze the results remotely.

Automatic Control of Bioprocesses

2012
In this chapter, different approaches for open-loop and closed-loop control applied in bioprocess automation are discussed. Although in recent years many contributions dealing with closed-loop control have been published, only a minority were actually applied in real bioprocesses, the majority being simulations.

Automatic Controlled Precision Calculations

Journal of the ACM, 1966
Recent developments in computer design and error analysis have made feasible the use of variable precision arithmetic and the preparation of programs that automatically determine their own precision requirements. Such programs enable the user to specify the accuracy he wants, and yield answers guaranteed to lie within the bounds prescribed.
