Automatic feature recognition using artificial neural networks to integrate design and manufacturing: Review of automatic feature recognition systems

open access: yes, 2010
Feature technology is considered an essential tool for integrating design and manufacturing. Automatic feature recognition (AFR) has provided the greatest contribution to fully automated computer-aided process planning system development.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Automatic (offline) configuration of algorithms

open access: yes, 2013
Most optimization algorithms, including evolutionary algorithms and metaheuristics, and general-purpose solvers for integer or constraint programming, have often many parameters that need to be properly configured (i.e., tuned) for obtaining the best ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Reinforcement learning for path planning of free-floating space robotic manipulator with collision avoidance and observation noise

open access: yesFrontiers in Control Engineering
This study introduces a novel approach for the path planning of a 6-degree-of-freedom free-floating space robotic manipulator, focusing on collision and obstacle avoidance through reinforcement learning.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Automatic Generation of Multi-Objective Polyhedral Compiler Transformations

open access: yes, 2020
To this day, polyhedral optimizing compilers use either extremelyrigid (but accurate) cost models, one-size-fits-all general-purposeheuristics, or auto-tuning strategies to traverse and evaluate largeoptimization spaces. In this paper, we introduce an ...

An approach to online identification of Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
An approach to the online learning of Takagi-Sugeno (TS) type models is proposed in the paper. It is based on a novel learning algorithm that recursively updates TS model structure and parameters by combining supervised and unsupervised learning.

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Term conflation methods in information retrieval: non-linguistic and linguistic approaches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Purpose – To propose a categorization of the different conflation procedures at the two basic approaches, non-linguistic and linguistic techniques, and to justify the application of normalization methods within the framework of linguistic techniques ...
